internet pop culture 2

*Update: this is an update to the original internet pop culture post*

My pop culture is the internet Download 10 times by Mr. Sean Shine. I love its news and information. I enjoy watching its tv channels and free movies. I do my research, I attend school, and I hang out with my friends.

The internet enhances my life in so many ways 소녀시대 party mp3 다운로드. Read on for my favorites of internet pop culture.

First, lets start off with the current slang.

  • Common terms for the internet are: internets, interweb, and intertron 또 오해영 12회 다운로드.
  • Abbreviations: ur, omw (on my way), OH (overhead), RT (retweet), btw (by the way)
  • Plurality everywhere: jut add “s” to everything, srsly do it, its fun
  • Making up words: like i told a friend the other night, i pretty much mastered the english language 15 years ago, now its time to have some fun with it
  • 80s are back: rad, my favorite word
  • Meme: means something that is hot on the intertron

Next, my top sites 킹덤 매크로 다운로드. Pulled from the newest version of Firefox (FF3) which captures that data for you:

  1. Gmail
  2. Concord (my online law school)
  3. Twitter
  4. Google Finance
  5. My Life (this site)
  6. Facebook
  7. E-Trade (my bank)

Now, here is how I get my news apache jmeter 다운로드. My favorite tech news site in the whole world, techmeme. I check it pretty much everyday, multiple times a day. It has a magical algorithm, popularized by google news, that finds popular items through links and then pulls them together Lotte ci download. On any given day you can find the best story on a hot new topic as well as the next best articles and all the discusison around them. Truly a cool agreggator of news, much better than RSS in my time starved day Baidu large file download.

Beyond that I use google finance for my stock news. NY Times for editorials by thomas friedman and news on the war front in Iraq Oracle 10g 32bit.

Seems kinda lacking doesn’t it? That is because I get my information from twitter. As of today, Oct 19, I am following 394 people. Except some of them aren’t people they are direct news feeds delivered to me, wherever I am (home, on the go) KakaPlayer. Then there are my several hundred friends who constantly post the latest news. They select it for me, they are my filter and my RSS feed.

So far its working out really well Download the dog of the royal dog. I get what I want and my scope is constantly expanded (thx twitter friendses).

Finally, and most importantly, my tv/movies. If you haven’t heard, hulu, is the hottest tv site on the internet. It has free shows/movies/cips. There are commercials but just one and if its a long episode then it’s one every 5-10 minutes. Lately, I have watched:

  • TV: Heroes (season 3), Burn Notice (all seasons), and House.
  • Movie: Groundhog Day, Karate Kid trilogy (go 80’s!), Sleepless in Seattle, Spy Game, and Men in Black.
  • Clips: SNL (saturday night live), Colbert Report, Jon Stewart, Sesame Street.

Well, that’s not everything. I know I left out large sections of the poppy culture but I hope anyone reading this can comment on the stuff I forgot. Thx!

Many thanks to Stowe Boyd, Lars Trieloff and Emily Chang for this post Free to mac os x.

Inspiration strikes in the weirdest places and for the weirdest reasons….I’m at an Enterprise 2.0 conference (E2.0) talking about the development of Web 2.0 and what happens 시스코 펌웨어 다운로드? I get inspired to start an art blog. Who knew…

But thanks to the power of laptops (which I can’t stress enough: “everyone needs a laptop”), networking, and the intertron, inspiration has come Download Corel Draw x8. Let me tell you how this happened and maybe give you a little insight into the world of Web 2.0.

On day one of the conference I had lunch with Lars and he introduced me to Roller 상속자들 6회 다운로드. A blog software that can host multiple blogs. One of my holy grails for blogging. Allowing you to build a community around your blogs and avoid the mass crowds on the popular sites 유튜브 멀티 다운로드. I hope to eventually use this to unite my multiple blogs together.

Next, I saw a presentation at E2.0 called “Social = Me First” by Stowe Modern Family Season 3. It was a really good presentation that covers the philosophy of this movement, but I was really interested in something else. I wanted to know what is next 삼성 기어 매니저 다운로드? (blogs and wikis are already years old after all). Stowe’s answer was “flow app’syoutube music video. I delved into them a little bit and it appears that he is right. (sorry, but explaining more would only cloud up this little narrative and I haven’t gotten my brain around in yet, so click the link for more) fnis.

Learning about flow app’s led me to Emily’s site. She has created a myriad of sites, including ones for reviews of web 2.0 technology, a personal blog, an art blog, and a flickr profile saxophone song. Bang, that is where inspiration struck. I am used to single sites like MySpace, where you have one huge page for all of your interests. Emily has taken that a step further establishing multiple sites where each one utilizes different aspects of the web and social dynamics. For example, her flickr account is just for her pictures and other pictophiles, and then on her artcodes blog she hosts individual photos that express some artistic interest.

It is this online portfolio or personal ecosystem that I like. In fact, what struck gold with me is the way that I can take previously personal and private interests and get them published. I can carve out my own home on the web, except instead of it being a homepage it is now a diverse ecosystem where my thoughts and interests can interact with millions of other folks worldwide.

Getting to those millions is the next step…maybe I will start with just bugging my girlfriend to visit them for now….

For those of you new to the web 2.0 world, these tools are easily available, mostly free, and easy to use. If you are interested here are some good ones: flickr, picasa, blogger, vox, 1& 1.
